I’ve had Savvy Solutions for almost five years, but 1 1/2 years ago I moved to a new city. Being new to Vancouver, I had to start my business over completely. The only person I knew was John, my husband. I had to get out there and start networking and meeting as many people as I possible could and you know what? Its been a year, but its starting to work.
I want to remind you to take advantage of every opportunity and get involved. Don’t let anything that may help you grow your business slip by. Since moving here, I have gotten involved with the Kitsilano Chamber of Commerce (my neighborhood chamber). My good friend Kirsten Severson, owner of KLS Trademark Services, is the VP and she is also responsible for events. I started helping her out at events and have gotten to know many members. Its been great! Recently she got me a meeting with the Executive Director, Terry Clark. I am thrilled to announce Terry has asked me to provide an organizing and productivity workshop for the chamber on June 18th. (More details will be announced soon, but the event will take place at the Watermark Restaurant on Kits Beach, June 18th at 7:30am.)
The only reason the opportunity is available to me is because I got involved. Be sure you are doing what you can to give back, get involved and take advantage of every opportunity. Sometimes, its the simplest efforts that pay off in the end.
